Engine management systems...
Just curious to see what EMS people are running on thier FCs. I have been researching what I might go with--and have no real preference at this point. Just what you are using and how do you like it kind of info would be cool! Thanks.

Im running a Wolf3d V4 with the hand held controller. Has very nice windows software, mapping system and compensation maps are similar to comparably priced systems.
I personally like it. Unit actually mounted where the stock ecu was in my GXL, made for a clean install. Id buy again if i needed another EMS |
Ive got an Haltech E6X..

I see you have an '88 NA.
I've just ordered the Digital Tuning RTEK-7 Stage 2 for the S4 NA. I should be shipping my ECU to them real-soon-now for piggybacking. Their system requires the use of a Palm-OS PDA, but at $399 for what is an apparently capable EMS, it is an option to consider. (Used Palms are cheap on eBay.) I can't give any real feedback yet, but TII Stage 2 users seem generally pleased. http://www.pocketlogger.com/index.ph...age=2&ecu=S4NA -The Guinea Pig |
Rtek 2.0 would be awesome for an N/A

There is an engine managment subforum here in the club, it has a ton of info. I'd take a peek around in there and see what people have to say.

I'm currently picking up a Wolf3D so I'm gonna see how that turns out. |
RTEK Stage 2 for S4 & S5 N/A imminent...
FWIW, I just got an email from Mike Montalvo at Digital Tuning saying I could go ahead and send in my ECU for the Stage 2 S4 N/A upgrade.
He also said they're finishing up S5 N/A this weekend and hope to officially introduce both next week. |
Haltech E6X here.
Also had some experience with a Microtech (LT8s). Both are great systems IMO |

Megasquirt here. Built but not in the car.

Keen!
I like the Megasquirt system-but at the moment think it might be a bit more function than I need-and the Rtek has a cool interface with the PDA functions...still researching but really great input guys, keep it coming!!

haltech E6k

Whew! I was starting to think I was the only one still on an E6K!
|
Wow. I'm the only one with the Apexi Power FC/commander. What's wrong with you guys? LOL
j/k Props to Banzai for the adapter kit. |
I've had a Microtech LT8 and now a Haltech E6k. Both are phonominal.. THe Microtech could not run in closed loop so it was always a little rich. Also, injector resolution DOES make a difference now that I have the Haltech.
Any way you look at it, any aftermarket EMS systems will be much better than an the Atari from 1984 (Remember two player pong?) Also a strong suggestion for getting an ECU which freshens the wiring harness in your engine bay. After 20 some odd years they get really crispy. |
MS 2.2 + Palm ...

haltech e6k.

I'll soon be going E6X if GOTBANNED? will give me my fucking money back. For the obvious reasons....New wiring, faster processor, easy to get sensors, ditching the huge AFM. Cause they only made so many TPS's and you can only get them used until they fuck up. Try buying a new S4 TPS from Mazdatrix.....
