engine harness help

I have an 86 rx7 which I recently swapped a S4 13BT into. Transmission drivetrain the whole shibbang! So I have the N333 ECU right in front of me and now I am wondering about the harness? I heard you can use the N/A harness but would it be much easier to use the S4 T2 harness? Someone help please. This is the last thing and my senior project is done! Then I get to walk in June with my class. LOL

Sounds like a problem that this guy I know has...

You can use the n/a or the Turbo EM harness.

Putting the turbo EM harness in a n/a is not very smart imho. Why? Because of the large plugs that are in the passengers side of the car that DO NOT connect to the ECU but to the FRONT harness. Those two plugs have to mate with your N/A FRONT harness and there are differences b/t the pinouts b/t your old n/a harness and the turbo harness.

Download the wiring schematics for a series four and look at the two plugs called X-15 and X-16. Note how the differences b/t Turbo pinout and n/a pinout are different. The Turbo differences will have the wire colors surrounded with ( ).

If you use the n/a harness you can almost plug and play.

I've attached two jpg of those two plugs. See the ( ) that indicate where the turbo is different???? That means you would NEED to make changes to those two plugs IF you had a turbo EM harness.

You DON'T have a turbo EM harness so you DON'T need to make those changes.

What You need to do is lay that EM harness in the car and connect it up. THEN make, if I remember right, two maybe three small changes in the engine compartment.

By the way, did you get a KNOCK Controller Box with the items you bought??? The car/engine will run flawlessly without it, but it is simple to connect on whien and if you get one.

What part of just laying the n/a harness in the engine bay is troubling you???

Both a turbo and a n/a car have the sensors in the same place: afm, boost, variable resistor, solenoid resistor, air intake sensor, tps, water thermo, solenoids on the rack on the left of the engine, alternator plug, four fuel injectors.

I mean it's not like your using this n/a harness for a V-8 engine your putting in the car that is wildly different.
