Engine building advise.
 

Guys im just about ready to put my engine together after 2 months of working on it. This is my 4th engine im building so im not all that new to it but im wondering if there are any helpful hints to give me that I don't know.

Use FD corner seal springs...
Mazda Comp and Mazdatrix offer "competition" oil control ring springs - I've got them, but comparing them side-by-side with stock ones with no difference :(
Upgrade oil pressure regulator - get the "street" version from Racing Beat that will bump up oil pressure to 80-85psi

This is basically what I've done to my motor. :)

OK I did buy the FD corner seal springs, I also bought the stock oil control ring springs, I wasn't aware they made upgraded springs, and I did buy the 80-85psi oil pressure regulator from Racing Beat, I did do my homework on this one too bad I didn't know about the oil control ring springs, do you think I should buy them, is it nessary?

Nah, I don't think the comp oil control springs are necessary. &nbsp They are used just to prevent excessive oil from reaching the combustion areas and spew excessive oil smoke out the exhaust.

1FAST2 or RETED what is the hardest and most trickiest part of rebuilding your own motor???.. And what is the benefit of putting a 80-85 oil pressure regulator...

And about the FD side seal springs, can i use the race one instead???Are the FD sss flat like the RACE version and is it cheaper???

To be perfectly honest with you I thinks its not too difficult to build a rotary. Its just a lot of clearance checking and know how. I am using a higher oil pressure regulator basically just for cheap insurance you could say. It provides more oil on the bearings when you really need it at say 8000 RPM pumping 500hp when the engine is really being stressed. I only wish I could say my engine will put out 500hp. Im not sure how the race side seal springs are but the FD ones are made thicker compared to the thin ones used in the earlier engines.

Hey Im gonna be getting a NA motor to rebuild while mine continues its slow down hill slide in to death. What are some things I should get over OEM replacement parts????
