Electronics prob? yeah its new
i hit the brakes, the radio cd cdchanger shuts off!!!! why? i flip the face down and bang the light for the eject cd button is lit up but does not function. i take the face off and hit the reset button and the whole unit works again until the brakes are depressed hard again. if i flutter the brakes it comes back on by it self, where do i start, i pulled the radio and no connections seem to be shorting out in the dash, is there somewhere that these two circuits cross that i should look for? please help!

how did you ground tha radio?

Sounds like it might be a bad ground on the stereo. Run a new ground to it.

Which circuit do you have the CD player wired into for power?
How's your alternator doing? What's your charging voltage? |
what is the voltage in the car when this happens???
|
voltage is good around 13v on the gauge. it is grounded to a bolt in the dash with a star nut and it is tight.

I think Icemark was dead on with the question about the voltage.
You might want to take a voltage reading streight from the power going into the radio before and after aplying the brake. |

And 13volts is not good... it is very bad. With the car running it should be at least 13.5 volts, and ideally 14.5 volts. |
Did you ever find the answer? my car does the same exact thing.

with my car running im at about 15, or 16 pretty consistantly.
