Electrical Problem! (explained better)

Ok after crossing my cables (hangs head in shame) These are the symptoms. (please keep laughter to self for I am already sad enough thanks heh)

Left Door sensor does not work, deck only flashes when plugged in. Every time car is shut off the clock resets. When I try to turn on an internal compartment light, it turns off the clock (lol!). Besides that the engine runs perfectly fine, high voltage according to gauge and I know my alt belt needs replacing but that'll happen this weekend.

Any ideas? thanks!

Btw Signals, head lights, high beams, hazards, break lights all work fine.

Crossing cables? You mean Battery Cables?!?! I hope not...dude, I'm sorry! :(

WAYNE88N/A Jun 23, 2004 08:26 PM

I'm assuming you're talking about the battery cables...

I'm also assuming you've also checked EVERY fuse, including the ROOM and CIGAR fuses for the clock...

You may/ may not have fried some polarity-sensitive circuits in the many computers, including the ECU (and deck)...

Actually a good sign you didn't fry the voltage reg in the alt :)

sounds like the room fuse is blown

Colbert Jun 24, 2004 12:01 AM

yeah the batt cables did cross, some fucker who was helping me do it (now i know to only do it yourself) basically crossed them. Whatevs you live you learn. Engine runs fine, just no music and other things lol.

Like when I turn on the internal compartment lights above my head, it turns off my clock and turns on the open door dummy light! lol

But it's fixable I am sure, my best friends dad is a mechanic and he is checking it out for me this sat.

ounds like the room fuse is blown

Colbert Jun 24, 2004 01:47 AM

really eh? wow I figured that the room fuse if it was burnt out nothing would work, i'll check it out!

I should find the room fuse in the fuse box under my dash or the engine fuse box on the drivers side of the engine?

Hey guys, I checked all the fuses again and it looks like it was the room fuse, thanks! I really appreciate the input... now you ask? time to put up another post about another prob! :D
