After replacing the 7.5 amp meter fuse do your dash warning lights still come on when the key is turned to on? If so, then apply the following info below as a"possible solution."
Appears to be a possible grounding problem. There is a group of ground wires that are joined together at plug JC-02 and it is located behind the gauges towards the firewall. There you should find a plastic plug with 5 or 6 Black grounds connected to a metal adapter that is fastened to the sheet metal of the firewall. Easiest way to check this should be by looking at the round plug behind the gauge cluster known as ME-02 which will have a Black wire (ground wire) in addition to a Yellow/Blue wire as well as other wires such as Black/White and so on. If you can, take a jumper wire and try to stab it into the back of this plug (ME-02) where the Black ground wire is and take the other end of the jumper wire and find a suitable grounding source to fasten it to and see if this cures the problem or not. |
Hitting a large puddle would not effect most of the items powered by the Meter fuse. BUT there is that REVERSE switch under the car and attached to the transmission. THAT might have shorted out for one reason or the other.
So disconnect the wires from the reverse switch and install a new METER fuse and see what happens. |

You can isolate the B/Y wire between connector FE-02 (located by the Main relay) and the Reverse switch and do a continuity test on that particular segment of wire to see if its good. You could also do the same thing regarding the Red/Green wire as it also found in the FE-02. You could also replace this segment(s) of wire.
