Electrical Problem

Alright. i just got done searching 6 pages of stuff on this and nothing solved it and i need some help..i drive a stock 87 TII.. so i was driving one day and listening to some music with this shitty deck that was in it when i bought the car and then it shut off and then none of my interior lights decided to work either(dome, door) and my door light came on that says that the door is open so i was like WTF..so i got to my house and check the room fuse...what do you know it was blown so i went to put in another one and it blew before i even put it in all the way and i waisted like 3 of them from that..so then i figured i had a short somewhere so i ripped out the deck checked all the wires and capped them off..still nothing..checked the door adjar wires those were good and then i checked the light wires all good..and im cinfused because why would my idiot light for the door come on and not shut off?..and nothing work..so im thinking its a bad ground but not sure and would like some imput...

also none of the idoit lights come on either but it was like that when i bought it...and they sometimes turn on but its wierd..

so i got pissed at the door ajdar light and pulled it out but i want this problem fixed so please help me

The Radio, CPU, ECU, Dome lights, and the warning/Clock unit all get constant power from that fuse.

Could be anyone of them.

And you don't get blown fuses with bad grounds... that is pretty much a no brainer. Bad ground means power can't get to ground... a blown fuse means power is getting to ground way too fast.

i know that they all get power and and thats what is confusing me...the only idiot lights that still work are my washer fluid, stop lamp, and abs...nothing else comes on..so shouldn't all of it not work if there is a bad fuse?...but ill go check all the wireing again to the warning unit/clock ecu, dome, door, and cpu...more input would help though

Not all the idiot lights are related to the dome power.

However as I posted before the clock is.

Bad fuse = no clock

ok i know that its a fuse problem or along those lines but it is shorted somewhere and i was wondering were a common place might be?...every time i attempt to put in a new fuse it pops it..

well the back of the radio is the first place I would be looking for the room fuse being blown.

Perhaps you missed the constant wire there when you capped stuff off???

<edit it would be the Blue/red wire behind the radio.

If you are sure that wire is capped off and not shorting at the back of the radio, then next I would be looking at the clock/warning panel, unplugging it and seeing if the fuse is still blowning.

k..i didn't think about just unplugging it...but ya i capped every wire to the radio..
