Electrical OMP and Programable ECU

Is possible to use the electrical OMP (Oil Metering Pump) with an aftermarket programable computer like Haltech, Microtech, Electromotive, etc? Or I need to remove it an go pre mix???

If I can use it, what modifications I need to do?

The FD3S Apex'i Power FC is designed to work with the OMP... and can be modded to run an S5 turbo.

OTOH, the FD only uses like half the OMP flow of an FC...

OTOH, the S4 has a mechanical OMP so I don't think it's affected by the ECU.

You may just want to swap to a mechanical OMP. Its easy to add the OMP control arm to the S5 TB. Just clikc on the link in my sig for my howtos.

You didn't answer his question. If you don't have answers all your doing is posting to raise your count and try to grab some attention.

There are a few ECU's that can run the OMP. The Haltech E11 can, as well as the Motec M400-800. Depeding on how you have injectors/ignition setup and the number of ins/outs you have will determine which model you need to buy. My personal preference is the Motec. I've spent many hours on the phone with engineers/programmers/tech service with both companies and Motec is far and away ahead of Haltech. But you pay for it.

The only modification you would need would be to change the electrical connectors on the OMP or the harness. Both can even supply a map but the Motec map is much much more indepth in its programming

I have a Electromotive Tec II. It have an general output. The problem is when you ask to the rotary mechanics and programers here in PR all says that any aftermarket ECU can't drive the Electric OMP and the only solution is going premix. Also I was reading, I dont know if was over the internet or in this forum, that the Electric OMP use 4 oil lubricating stages depending on the RPM's of the engine.

That's why I'm asking for help. I need to clarify this information to know what I would do with the engine: use the E OMP or going premix.

I think that I have one mechanical OMP. I read your How to... This OMP fits without problem in the area were the Electric OMP are? Also the bracket for the OMP rod, is the only part that I need from a S4?

As far as I know the Tec II cannot run the S5/6 OMP. It needs 4 outputs and 2 inputs. It's a stepper motor and needs those ins/outs accordingly... @ least that's how many it ate up on the Motec. The Haltech can do it as well because it has that stepper motor driver software stuff in there.

The right EMS can drive it but if you only have 1 output, I don't see that happening. The other thing to be concerned about is no-one really knows exactely how Mazda programmed the ECU to drive the OMP, meaning what inputs did they use to determine the output. Motec seems to think that it is a 4 or 5 input map using temp, throttle, air temp??, load, & rpms. We are thinking about using load throttle and injector duty cycle :D
