Electrical Help Please
 

I have a friend who is selling his 91 rx7 vert. It has a brand new engine with only 200 miles on it and is in great shape with only 140k on the chassis. Well the only problem holding me back from considering purchasing this car is the electrical problem he says it has.


He had to replace the engine because the previous one had died. Only 2 months after replacing the engine the car started to have problems. He would be driving it fine then everything would shut off and lose all power. He could get it running around but it would run extremely rough he said. He said he felt like it was hurting the car. Then he would wait a while drive for another couple trips to where ever and it would do the same thing. He says he has no idea what the problem could be.


I was wondering if there were similar problems you or someone you know has had and where I should start looking for the problem. He said I am more than welcome to get a certified mechanic to check it over to see what could be the problem but I don't want to just walk in there and say go at it. I'd like somewhere to start checking to see what could be the problem. He is going to make me a killer deal just I am worried about this problem turning into something like a $2000 problem in my hands.
