EGT's@7400rpm=820C

yo guys, I was doing my daily redlines slowly and peeked down at my EGT guage and noticed I was above 800c at around 5krpms. Given I was under about 40% throttle I didn't think too much of it because I remembered that it fattens up once you get on the throttle. But when i did get on it it rose to about 820c. Since I had my S-AFC I fattened it up from 4800 up to 8k a few points(2-6%) Then I tried it again. I think it acually went higher! Now i was remembering that EGT's go up if you add too much fuel. Could this be my prob?

89 GTU

MT true duals(RB mufflers)
K&N Cone
"Bareblocked"
550pri's 720 sec'
TII fuel pump
N/a FPR
S-AFC II(Roughly adjusted to stock 460s' flow)
Timming=stock AFAIK
7 or 8k miles on the plugs/wires
fresh 20W 50 non synth mobile one
87 octane fuel

A cheap (Pep Boys) AFR gauge will tell.
A wideband AFR is best, but I'm a cheapskate.

Yeah I'm thinking i'm going to bust out for the dynojet that we found in town. They charge 30 bucks but I don't know if they have a wideband or not.

EDIT:

Did I mention I don't have an O2 sensor that works :) still get 21mpg tho for some reason :-d

Damn! --- If it aint broke, don't fix it.

I was getting 19MPG, then I put in an S-AFC, MBC, FCD.
Now even cruising around on a leaned out low boost map I get only 16??

I miss my NA when gassing up.

1500 Degrees F is a bit high there my man.... Whats AFAIK mean in your sig after timing???

however,, the low backpressure of your true dual setup could be contributing to your High EGT's

I'd check your AFR's.... might be running leaner than you think

I think i might put my video camera to some use. I'm probably going to mount it in view of the S-AFC and the EGT to see what i'm getting through the gears.

NA, right?
If this was a turbo, it wouldn't been dead by now. :)

800C is not unheard of in an NA.

Pull the spark plugs - what color are they?
If they are BLACK, you're running too much fuel.
If they are WHITE, it's too lean.

You could be shooting too much fuel in there.
The spark plugs do not lie.
