efan + intake

well i just found out the intake i order is on backorder for another 4 weeks. my problem is that my clutch fan is crap i got a efan for it and wanted to install the efan and the intake at the same time becuase i have to get rid of all that plastic crap on top of the raditior. so would it be wise to install the efan now, remove the inlet duck to stock airbox and run it like that.

no drawbacks other than sucking in more hot engine compt. air into the intake- slight loss of power

Crap as in broken and causing overheating problems, or crap as in you think an e-fan will work better? (It won't)

As Wayne said, a small power loss will be the only problem. Note that unless your new intake is going to have a heat shield and cold air intake, that power loss will still be there after you upgrade.
