ecu's interchangeable?
Are the ecu's interchangeable? I read in another thread that they were.

if the first 3 letters/numbers match then the ECU is interchangable, that is a decent rule of thumb for these cars.
for example a N332 ECU is interchangable with an N333 ECU. the first 3 would be N33x, x being relatively irellevant(thank god the universe didn't implode after wording that). this works for 86 through 88 models, obviously keeping turbo and non turbo segregated. series 5 have completely different pins on the ECU so the N350 and N370 are on their own with no interchangability. |
I haven't looked at what I have in the 91 vert... but a guy said he has a n326...is that from a s4?
|
N326 is from a 86-87 non turbo.
S5 vert should have either a N352 or N353. |
a 351 also will work thats what i have

Thanks for all the useful info. Hopefully I will get it figured out soon. At least I have a 87 as my DD
