ECU problems
I swapped an n/a engine for an turbo II engine on my 1990 gtu, i have an n332 ecu but the wire harness that comes from the fuse box wont fit. Also some plugs in the engine wont fit, anyone had this problems before? any hints? thank you.

That's because you put an S4 ECU (and S4 engine + S4 harness?) into an S5 car. The plug shapes are different, wires are in different locations and all of the electronics work differently.

That's why you should read before you buy. Nearly every engine swap thread I've seen say to stay in the same series you have. Good luck, hopefully you get it figured out.

Thanx for the smart comment but, I thought the car was 89, i bought it from a junk yard and went stright to the paint shop and i didnt find out it was an 90 untill i received the title 2 months later. I asked for help not for opinions I already know but thanks.

1989 are ALSO series FIVE
Use you series five non turbo EM harness on the engine after making small corrections to the wiring. I won't address the transmission/starter problems. Get a series five turbo ECU to go with the turbo engine. |
89-91 is S5 series
87-88 is S4 series I know you'll need an S4 series (emissions/engine) harness. I'm unsure if you'll need the dash wiring out of an S4 or not. If so it might be in your best interest to exhange the S4 setup for an S5 and avoid having to pull and rewire the dash. |
