eccentric shaft hub and flywheel questions

ok so we are trying to get the eccentric shaft hub off the front of the vehicle right now before we pull the engine (89 rx-7 gtu), does anyone know if this is a normal or reverse thread nut ? also where do i get the special tools needed to pull off the flywheel ? does anyone in the area have them that i could borrow instead of buying them for one time use ? thanks for the help.

its normal thread, block the flywheel and use a impact gun or long breaker bar

pull the enigne first btw

ok thanks, any advice on getting the flywheel off ??

Flywheel removal is covered in the FAQ.

The front eccentric nut is 19MM, normal thread. It's normally 90 ft-lbs and secured with Loctite. Best be to remove it is heat it up cherry red then use an impact gun.

i took a scrap piece of steel and drilled holes to match some on the fly wheel. i set the block on the ground and stick my foot on my blocking bar and yank.

You don't need them. Read the topics linked to in the FAQ.

i tried that trick with the peice of metal bolted to the flywheel and about a 3 ft extension on a breaker bar ... that nut came off pretty easy then heh i was surprised. thanks for the idea.

WTF... .A piece of chain and two bolts? How hard is that.
