ebay intakes.....wet or dry
do you have to spray that oil stuff on em?
i just impulsively got one yesterday, and i was wondering if they need oiled, how good they filter, and whatever im gonna get a k&n or something wlse better later, but i was hoping this could do for a while |
bump....?
you could have bought the k&n one off of ebay thats what i did... its more expensive but you dont have to buy the filter later. The k&n ones come pre oiled but im not sure about the other ones
yeah i know
but thats what i did..... if it DID have to be oiled and i DIDNT what would happen..? |
nothing.... just wouldent filter as good... i havent done a thing to my k&n since i put it on... i didnt oil it or anything.. is all the oil does is catch some of the really small particals of shit
k&n is pretty universal, right? as in the diff is mainly that some use that afm and others use mas or others use carbed?
Most of the cheap Ebay ones are dry mesh, which i prefer myself.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...413127115&rd=1 i dont think itll need it.....it doesnt say it does |
If you don't oil it, it will not work very well. If you live in a dusty area, you are foolish hot to oil it. You will be sandblasting your engine..
where would i get that oil
assuming i need it |
I would think that you could just use the k&n filter recharge kit....
probably...yeah i shouldve thought of that :)
why waste money on a K&N? Just buy the $25 dry mesh. Or keep the stock box. I noticed absolutely nothing when I put on my cone filter. I'll actually probably go back to the stock box.
you probably didn't notice anything because you didn't waste the money on a k&n :-P
Before you slap a cone filter on your car, make sure it has a greater filter surface area than the stock air filter. Otherwise, what's the point? You just created a restriction instead of eliminating one.
The surface area of the filter for a stock airbox is approximately 85-90 sq in. |
