easy question: shifter housing oil fill level

quick question: haynes says to fill the shifter housing. so, what exactly does that mean?

Which line do I fill to? (see pic) I assume the red or green, but drew the others just in case.:dunno:

green is what i fill mine to. just enough to cover the part the shifter goes into

ok, thanks. I did it wrong last time. It feels much better now (at least sitting in the driveway, engine off). When I put in new bushings a couple years ago, I filled it up to the red. I had not drained anything when I took that pic. It had just slowly dropped over time, so I really needed more oil.

check your drain plug and the part that holds the spring in. It may be leaking

I generally don't fill the housing much. I just put enough oil in to wet it, then thoroughly grease it. Otherwise it tends to leak out of the top of the housing as it never wants to seal well.
