Easiest way to get it to run? S5 turbo

I have a 88 GXL and I'm swapping in a s5 turbo (knight sport turbo) and its my little drift missile. It's fully gutted just the and head lights and brake lights left on it. I have a USDM harness and N374 ECU, and all I need it to is get me sideways on the track. I'd like to work with what I have to get it running, and I would prefer not to pull the wire harness from behind my s5 dash to use on my GXL. So what is NEEDED to get the engine running?

What do you mean by "running"? Just because an engine starts doesn't mean it's ready to constantly bounce off the rev limiter with little cooling airflow since it is going sideways. You need fuel, spark, air flow measurement, and timing control.

Is it an NA or turbo block? Running a hybrid turbo on a stock ecu isn't a great idea since the injectors are smallish and there aren't any timing adjustments for higher boost. You may be able to run an rtek 1.7/1.8 with upgraded injectors, which you'll need a usdm ecu for them to mod.

I think the unknowns of your N374 ecu are causing more trouble than its worth. Have you plugged it in and tried it?

It's a complete S5 engine, and I have the N374 Ecu and cut harness that came with it, and I also have a usdm harness and N374 ECU. And when you say little cooling, we're you making a joke toward it being sideways or more towards having a fmic?

I was just pointing out a worst case scenario that is basically the point of drifting. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching it. But cooling is a big issue with rotaries and drifting causes the car to be in that situation all the time. The FMIC isn't going to help the situation either.

Since it's a turbo engine, you can probably get away with an rtek 1.7/1.8.

what he is asking is what pins on the JDM n374 ECU need to be swapped in the dash harness to make it function properly in a USDM car. i'm sure there has to be someone who has experience with this and the different versions of the left and right hand drive wiring schematics.

some people say they have plugged them in and went, i have a hard time believing the wiring is plug n play as everyone usually has a story about the N374 ECU not working properly. probably because it is NOT plug and play for a USDM harness car, just the same as the fools who use the n/a harness on a turbo ECU and run into issues. sure it will run and sure it will drive but it won't run or drive right.
