E-Brake Spring....where do i order one from?
 

i have been working on getting my e-brake to work lately and i have finally figure it out...what happened was the springs got old and lost their "spring" then the whole thing just locked up. so i was able to free it all up and get it moving just fine. then i was able to hook it up and the brake holds the car from moving. the problem is the springs are old and do not release the brake after you put the lever back down. is there somewhere i can order new springs for these, or is it as simple as a home depot or sears hardware run? has anyone else had this problem?

its the spring that releases the E-Brake on the caliper. its right next to where the cable hooks to the caliper. im thinking dealership but the closest is like a half hour away....i gotta make a list and get everything i need at one time....

my guess that its not ur spring but your pistons getting stuck inside your calipers just from age. A rebuild should completly cure this problem. mine are like that right now, just too lazy to rebuild it at the moement

that might be part of the problem...but i know the springs are no good. when there was no brake fluid in the calipers (they were off the car) i could pull the e-brake lever on the caliper and it would move, but the spring would not push it back when i let go.
