DynoMax exhaust...
 

I need to buy a cat back system for my '86 RX-7 n/a but have a very limited budget. I was wondering if anyone has used or know someone who has used the DynoMax cat back from MazdaTrix. It is way cheaper than the rest and I would be able to afford it a lot sooner but I dont want to get a pile of crap. And I dont want my car to sound like a pile of crap either. Any info on this system would be great. Thanks.

Do you need it now or can you wait a bit for something you really want? It would be a lot more expensive to buy it, not like it, then end up saving up for the one you really want.

I have a Dyno-Max on my turboII and am very pleased with it. Added performance and sound is great.

On my n/a I have a duel exaust from Mazdatrix that runs from exaust to tail pipes and is also just great.

Frankly speaking about the Dyno Max on the turboii, I'm guessing it works just as good as the *other* exaust they sell. I'll never know because I'm never going to buy both to find out which is better. Oh, can hit fuel cut on a 100 degree day with the Dyno Max, Mazdatrix downpipe and presilencer and K and N. With the above and a stock cat back, the temp has to be around 50-60 and below to hit fuel cut.

I had a dynamax system when I first got exhaust but it was more of a quick fix untill I could afford something else. Now I run Powertech dual mufflers and their unreal.

My car is a daily driver that I am kinda dependent on right now and need an exhaust as soon a possible cause i have no back pressure cause the y-pipe is completely broke off of both mufflers. So that cant be very good for the engine.

What about the corksport single? Or the N1 single? Or even better, have a custom dual made for like $300.

Yeah I've been looking at a new exhaust.

I have a 86 N/A and my left muffler ius totally rotted out.

I heard the N1 dual doesn't have enough back pressure to turn on the 5th and 6th ports.
I was wanting to stay with dual but if it wont create enough back pressure then I'll have to go single.

What woiuld you guys recommend?
I am willing to spend about $400.

Whats the best things to get? I don't have to pass emmisions for a year and was thinking a single highflow cat and some type of cat back.

I wouldn't worry about whether your upcoming exhaust/cat will have enough back pressure to open up the auxilliary ports. Just get a RPM Switch and an old EGR Solenoid and your happening. It really Isn't hard. Besides, even If you get a cat that contains the adapter for the Split Air Pipe, your auxilliary ports will not open on time or even sooner. Having a RPM Switch/EGR Solenoid, you can zero It In at EXACTLY when you want It too.

Even with my RB Header, S.S Bruleen Catback and S.S Cat with adapter, they never opened up the ports for shit. I had no choice but to have a set up that I am In control of. I couldn't ask for better. Plus with the PR Inserts your jamming. You will really feel them open with the suggested set up. ;)

I love the Dynomax stuff. It is the only thing I will run on any car. The test was my 88 n/a when I had a custom SS 2.5" with the Dynomax round mufflers. Incredible power. I felt more power than the RB catback. I love it. I have used the Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers on my Celica i used to race and it was the best thing I ever had on it.
They sound great. make power. out flow most on the market, and are cheaper than guys like Borla (which I hated on the Rx7 by the way)

Are the SuperTurbos straight-thru or baffled type mufflers. And how loud was it at idle?

ive had the dynomax super turbo system on my na for about a year, and a dynomax high flow car for about 6 months.....both of them have held up great so far......actually, some one else drove my car for the first time since ive had it yesterday and i was like,.....damn my car sounds pretty fuckin cool.........so for te price of the system, i feeel that it is a pretty good buy

I started out with super turbo's and they were fine. I just didn't have the money for what I wanted so I used it untill I could get the cash.

The Super turbos are baffled. you can see light through it though. the Round and the "Bulletts" are the best but they are loud. Don't get the bulletts if you are going to runn on the street.
I got the 19" long 2.5" in/out Round on my car now. It is really loud above 3500 RPM when I have the silencer in and the cat out. with the Dynomax Hi flo cat, I can't "feel" a difference in the power. and it is quieter. without the cat, it sounds just like a formula 1 car. It is just a little too much withoput the cat for city driving. I am positive though that the cat does cost HP eventhough I can't fell it.

I think VB sells rotary exhausts for cheap as well.

I run a Dynomax super turbo system on my 89 gtu and i am very pleased with both the sund and the performance for the money i think it is the best way to go
