Durring craking, all power shuts off, 4-5 seconds later, all powers up again Relay?

When I am craking my engine, the power shuts off completely. All power! Then, a few seconds later, it all powers back up. Is there a relay for such behavior? My starter was checked, battery checked, no problem in those areas. Battery relocated to the back using the Summit kit. Connections seem fine.

As well, I did the Throttle body mod, and removed much emissions. FYI.

anyone?

rotorforce 05-08-06 06:03 PM

I know you did that battery relocation. Did you check all of your connections?

Edit* Sounds like something is shaking loose a bit while the car is cranking over..

I am not much of an expert on electrical but could there be a connection with the initial load the starter is taking on that is causing the power to shutdown?

Yep, I'd suspect battery connections.

Bad ignition switch?

The Wankler 05-08-06 08:23 PM

I will go over the connections again. It is weird. When it dies, I have to let it sit for a minute as if it was juicing up a capacitor before I start it again.

HAILERS 05-08-06 10:07 PM

Bad battery connections.

To prove its not the ignition, all you hve to do the next time everything goes blank, is turn on the headlights. They are on a seperate bus than the ignition switch. No lights proves it's a battery connedion.

The Wankler 05-08-06 10:25 PM

okeeee, checking. Everything goes blank.

Terrh 05-09-06 01:14 AM

yeah, it's your battery connections

start at the terminal and work your way foreward (since you relcated your battery)

The Wankler 05-09-06 11:32 PM

It was my damn breaker right next to the battery. It is only a 100 amp, I did not think it was to small. Bypassing that, no problem with the cranking.

KamakazieX 05-10-06 06:38 PM

see if your starter wire is heavily corroded, corroded wires will draw more amperage

sounds like your dropping below 10v if everythings shutting off.. might want to try another battery or a booster pack

everyone forgets about the rusted ground wires- its always the stupid things.. look into that

Thats why I ran a 250A

You know what's funny, I remember seeing it in your thread where you posted progress and I was going to mention it but didn't.. Oh well glad you fixed it.
