Driving with the Ebrake...

I drove my friends car and he wants to know what the problem was. so i drove it and heard a clanking noise when i reached 3k rpm in first and second. I think it is the flywheel not gripping the clutch? is this incorrect. also i let my friend drive it so i could teach him how to drive manual( the car is realy his aunts) but he left the ebrake on the whole time by accident. the rear brakes were SMOKING like shit. you think i would need just new pads or new shoes, what?

probably needs a resurfaced rear brake rotors and cleaned or replaced brake pads

what bout the flywheel?

neptuneRX 07-18-04 11:36 PM

the flywheel is mostlikely fine, seeing as how the trouble was the ebrakes

Homie D 07-18-04 11:44 PM

no... the ebrake was after . the transmission was always making that noise after i got past 2500 rpm

Does the noise continue and you keep revving or is it just once? I'm no expert but you could check the g/b and diff mounts.

If the clutch wasn't holding the flywheel, when you gave it more revs it wouldn't accelerate any faster, as if you were riding the clutch.
