driving along fine then bam car slows down like im down shifting????

Ok it happened once about 2 months ago then again yesterday. Ill be driving along fine revs fine boosts fine, then all of a sudden the car starts slowing down like I let off the gas, I try hitting the gas and nothing put it nutral revs to like 3k then drops off, I turn the car off for about 30 secs turn it back on and has run fine since????

Im thinking fuel pump/lines/injectors

What do you guys think???
Thanks
Josh

Could also be wiring, one of the old wires could have a crack in it, these wires are almost 20 years old and they've been in a 170* engine bay

josh greene 10-10-06 10:22 AM

Ill take a look at the wires and I guess just wait till it happens again.

Are your filters good? Both the main one and the in tank one? I got a used pump and it does this to me, i'm replacing the in tank filter in hopes of fixing the problem.

Also, check your fuel pump relay.

^Check the filters and check the voltage at the fuel pump. It may be time to rewire the pump.

lol... sorry... didnt mean to confuse you.... yeah, a t2 swap is just swapping from a naturally aspirated motor, to a turbo motor ("t2" refers to turboII)... i was just meaning that i swapped everything so id be no help:)

this happened to me once and it was the plug to the MAF that would loosen up from time to time with acceleration would just readjust it and the problem would do away. to fix it just took it out and cleaned the contacts and that was the end of the problem.
