Driver's side window problem.

OK, so the window wouldn't go down on the new 'vert. Then, I hit the window up function, and it moved up... Waaaay up. It's stuck. It won't do anything at all.

Now, it looks like this:

First, how the hell do I get it back down? Next, if the regulator will push the window up and out, I'm assuming it's set up incorrectly. There was no moisture barrier on the door, so I'm thinking the PO screwed around with it previously. Is there a way to adjust it? Do I need to disconnect everything completely, lower it down to where it belongs, hook it back up, or what?

OK, it's supposed to rain tomorrow, I could really use some help. The Haynes manual isn't giving me anything to work with.

from a previous experiance i would say try tapping on the motor with a hammer an chisle. just lightly tap on it so you dont break anything but if it has rust or something on the contacts it will help to break it up an the motor should move. as for the position thats beyond me i have never had that problem before

Well, I just removed the whole assembly, so the window is out, and I have the regulator and motor out, too. I'm gonna try taking it apart and cleaning it up, maybe that will do the trick.

well good luck

The window is out of alignment (common body shop thing if they can't get the top to stop leaking).

Just get a mikita or cordless drill battery and hook it up to the two motor wires with a couple of jumper wires. Then you can roll down or up with the battery to what ever height you need.

But you will need to eventually re-align the window to the door.

BTW: looking at your pictures again, you have jumped the window off the track and above the stops. You may need to unbolt the window completelty from the lift to get it back in before attempting to realign.

Well, I took it all apart, the motor is shot.

So, there's a fun part to go locate.

Anybody know if an S5 regulator will work?

From experience, the coupe regulator will not work. The s5 vert one should work, though, as I'm pretty sure they are the same part number.
