Did you replace or check your pilot bearings and align your clutch properly?

KompressorLOgic 12-04-05 12:00 PM

it says he couldnt mate the trany to the driveshaft.....

is it the same driveline that was on the car??? or is this a new one or different one?? u sure your using the right one? na for na, turbo for turbo....

FC3S_nataku 12-04-05 12:00 PM

thats between the block and tranny. my problem is mateing the tail end of the tranny to the driveshaft

FC3S_nataku 12-04-05 12:01 PM

sorry, same drive line, 88 t2

can you spin the driveshaft?? is the tranny in neutral? might not be close but i made this mistake.

FC3S_nataku 12-04-05 12:37 PM

i put the tranny in gear and jacked up one back wheel to spin the drive shaft. is there a key or something i the splines or something

YBNORML 12-04-05 12:55 PM

There is not a key, it should slide on. Have you unbolted the drive shaft from the differential? If not you should do that. It will give you enough room to move the front of the drive shaft over the tailshaft of the trans.
Good luck.

put the driveshaft spline into the transmission. spin it around until it slides in. then bolt it to the differential....

88rxn/a 12-04-05 01:12 PM

i think you need to just wiggle it in thier. mine popped right in

FC3S_nataku 12-05-05 07:19 AM

ok well i guess im going to try to put it in by my self in a hour or two, hopefully it just slides in :)

It's much easier if you remove the big heat shield from under the transmission during the install. Also make sure to coat the spline/yolk of the shaft with transmission oil to avoid tearing the seal. Just get it in there, wiggle and turn it until it pops into place.
