Driftin

Why is it that when i try to drift some times my car stops and i cant give it gas then it goes again...dunno if its a safty thing or what.

fuel pump not sucking gas? maybe ur fuel pumps goin bad. My vert does that but the tii just keeps eating tires :)

jonesfromindia 05-04-07 06:48 PM

chuck the car. get a 240.

socalrx7racer 05-04-07 06:49 PM

Mine used to do that untill i did some of my power mods. i think it might be the combination of

a - Not enough torque to spin the wheels while its sideways
b - Stock dtss bushings stopping the drift prematurely
c - Poor pedal response

Is your car stock?

P.s........Who says such things on the rx forum?

Valkyrie 05-04-07 06:54 PM

Bad fuel baffles in the tank? Meaning, when you're turning very hard, all the fuel is on the side of the tank, instead of getting sucked up into the engine.

The same thing can happen with engine oil, if you're low.

Sounds like fuel starvation to me which is bad any way it happens.

Check your fuel pump/voltage/filters(intank and inline)

oh and fill your tank up and don't do it with less than a 1/4-1/8th tank
Left turns are common area due to the fuel tank cage design.

Tier2racer 05-04-07 08:26 PM

Ok im gonna try filling the car up all the way and drift...see if maybe its a fuel tank issue. LMAO get a 240.... :fawk:

DriftingB26RX7 05-04-07 09:49 PM

jones is a retard.... my car does that. it happens when your turning very hard making the fuel goto one side as already stated. Its has to do with the fuel pump and bad baffle!!!

rotarydrifter90 05-04-07 10:34 PM

my friend has a set up on his fc to prevent it ill get back to you asap on what he did.

somthing along the lines of a resivor with a fuel pump going in a out to prevent air bubbles i think

Change your fuel sock, it's about $10 from the dealer, it pops on the bottom of the fuel pump, also change your fuel filter and backflow water through it, if there is alot of rust in your fuel filter you may need a new tank or at least a decent cleaning.
