Double sheave alt pulley
Can anyone give me a link where I can buy a double sheave alternator pulley that will not be an underdrive? I've looked on racing beat, mazdatrix, and rotary performance but they are all underdrive. Thanks for any help.

i've had this one for about 3 years now and i love. it looks great, fits nicely and doesn't eat up belts as quickly as other double alt pullies. the price is great too. it kind of sounds like a supercharger whine (imo). i race people and they swear im on boost (because of the whine) but im na stock port. just saying. it's the only one i would recommend since it's the only one i have experience with and have heard lots of horror stories from people saying their double alt pullies eat up belt all the time.

Sorry for kind of stealing the thread, but what do you do with one of these? What is the point of it, if you're not adding some other belt driven thing?

On cars that no longer use the air pump, we’ve seen that occasionally the belt to the water pump will slip at high RPMs. This is a result of the air pump to waterpump belt missing. The slippage can cause insufficient cooling to the engine and increase the chance of severe damage. To remedy this, we recommend installation of this pulley kit in a dual belt configuration. The Pulley in our kit is the same diameter as stock, so there are no charging issues at idle caused by underdriving the alternator. |

stock the water pump has two belts around it. the one for the water pump, alt and and eccentric shaft and the one for the water pump, air pump for the acv and the eccentric shaft. withoutn the belt for the air pump the other belt has a tendency to slip on the water pump

^ Yep, my FC eats those v-belts pretty fast. I've even had one snap into once.

That pulley is not uncommon to alternator/starter rebuilders. They can sell ya one for about 15 bucks.
