Mine would clink when accelerating or decelerating. I thought it was the drive shaft u joint but the sound was coming from the right front brake caliper. I have not yet found out what it was.

Does your clutch engage off the floor or near the top.... near the top.. could have clutch problems.... near the floor, probably not.... Pressure plate could be loose... get that thing up in the air and root around under there looking for loose stuff, check the release fork.. all that happry crap!!

Yes. Mine does what was described above. Only in 4th gear and when accelerating, I hear a unrythmatic clinking noise. I'm almost sure its the transmission.

A bad U-joint will make a "tink" sound you first hear as you start out.
Reach under and tap on the driveshaft. See if that's the sound you're hearing.

its not the driveshaft or should not be. i just had it replaced. i am thinking clutch

Crap - that was my best guess.
Most broke/loose/worn driveline stuff goes "clunk".
CV joints go "tick-tick"
U-jounts resonate the driveshafe & go "tink"

Now I sound like Old McDonalds farm..
