Door's wont open!! Help (just bought)

K, I already know I'm going to be ridiculed for not checking first, but the guy I bought the RX7 from just dropped it off at my house (by trailer).

It's an 87. Now, WTF am I doing wrong. The doors wont open. ALL of them.

The lock is unlocking... I know that, but it seems like the latch just won't open.

ANY ideas??

And if it makes a difference... the engine is out, along with the battery... there doesn't need to be power or anything does there? I just need 1 door open!! Any! I even tried opening it from the inside!

How? My brother pried the door open about 1/8" for me to slip a coat hanger in, and then I pulled the latch from the inside, and it STILL doesn't open...

I have NO idea what to do...

Unlock and open the hatch and crawl inside.

If the interior latches are not unlocking then you will have to bust up the inner door panel.

The doors wont open. ALL of them.

The doors wont open. ALL of them.
Actually when I said all of them, I meant the hatch too.... I WISH I could get the hatch open....

So the key does not unlock/open any door or the hatch??? Does it even turn either direction in any lock???

Then it is the worng key, go get a slim jim or locksmith.

And remember the door has to be unlocked for the interior latch on the door to open the door.

I had a similiar problem on my 87base. both door handles broke at the same time if you can believe it. Well one broke and I never fixed it, and then the other one broke. The hatch was never able to open with the key, I tried to turn it but I felt like I was going to break the key in half.

I posted up on the forum and someone said to put the key in the hatch and turn it while you jiggle the key up and down.. And presto it worked like a charm. Give it a try.
