K&N makes a washable, drop in replacement for the second gen. 7s.
If I remember correctly it has better flow numbers (though probably not a huge
difference.)Its the last air filter you will ever buy.

Changed my ancient (and dirty :shocking: ) air filter with a K&N Drop-In and instantly had better throttle response when reving the engine :D

Last filter I'll ever buy for that car.

stores rip you off big on thoes, the k&n web site has them for alot cheaper

RoTa7 06-24-07 03:46 PM

its just a air filter, it not like the fram are filters will rip up and get sucked into his motor like the fram oil filters.

SpooledupRacing 06-24-07 03:51 PM

fram is junk all the way around.. the other filter could hvae been a red element filter we sell those filters in red.. and it really did not look to bad what u should do is turn it around and pull the paper back and see how much is in the cracks.. if u can see through it while pulled back then uit was still good.. or atleast decent

Im going to be switching to a cone filter in a little while and I bought this one just to hold me over for the time being. so I wasent to big on who made the filter.

Actually, I've seen it happen with the air filters... The pleating came apart and a chunk got stuck in the TB. Luckily, it got stuck in the TB. Would have been a pain to pull off the UIM/LIM to get it out.. or having it get sucked into your engine and blowing it...

Me too. Theres a pic of it somewhere on the forums.
And yeah, the 65 bucks is for a lifetime filter. You can definately get it cheaper online, though. I was looking at getting one for my MX-3, and it was 65 bucks AFTER a 25% discount at Advance Auto. The one for my wife's Mazda 6 was only about 25 or 30 bucks after the 25% discount.

RoTa7 06-24-07 09:07 PM

crazy, how is fram still in business?

RotaMan99 06-25-07 02:14 PM

^ Their false advertising.

If they lied about that, I wonder what else the lied about or did not tell you.
