He stole my $45 for window switches.
It sounded like a good deal, I guess I shoulda known. I sent him the money via paypal, and as soon as he got it, I never heard from him again. I filed an official complaint through paypal, and they determined him as a faulty seller, but could not recover my funds. Oh well. Some people are just ass holes.

kbrown211 04-21-02 11:11 PM

yeah thats how he got me with paypal

AreExSeven 04-21-02 11:14 PM

I know where he lives, seen his car before. Bout an hour away from me. Im thinking I may just go up there and bash his car in with a baseball bat. What you guys think? :D

Sell him a boost pressure sensor for cheap and get his address....

kbrown211 04-21-02 11:17 PM

yeah that would be cool but i would not hit the 7, i would rather hit him in the face with the bat, where does he live

SonicRaT 04-21-02 11:39 PM

I've got very bad luck with buying from people on this forum, either they take the money and disappear completely, or they take it and keep making excuses for months on end, or they send you the wrong thing! If it weren't for hypntyz7 I would have given up on this forum long ago!

AreExSeven 04-21-02 11:46 PM

he lives in chico.
i live outside of sac. but my aunt lives up there.

Nah, don't take it out on the 7!

Just go down to his house, knock on his door, and personally demand your item or your money back. :)

BadBoy 04-22-02 12:29 AM

or sell him a product and make him pay you with paypal...i am very hessitant to purchase anything here unless i get the o.k. from one of the forum administrators on their character.

I've had a bad experience with a user on this forum.. and I feel like a moron for sending him the money in the first place... (this is a diff person, NOT buddy)
my engine blew and I needed a new rotor housing.. he said he had 2 housings he would sell me for 260 shipped for both..

so I agreed, and he said he only accepts money orders.. and believing that all people on this forum are good, I sent it out.. Well, about 2 weeks later he said he finally got the money order and he would send me my housings... That was in January... I still havn't seen my housings or money, and he makes similar excuses as Buddy, I wonder if they are the same people ? I talked to an admin and he said the guy I purchased from had 4 screenames... HMM

UniqueTII 04-22-02 03:02 PM

People, even RX-7 drivers, suck. I have only purchased one thing from a forum member and I got it right away in the described condition, but I hear about this kind of thing all the time. Isn't there some legal solution for this that will hurt him for longer than a broken nose?

kbrown211 04-22-02 08:26 PM

well i had contacted paypal but, they said it was longer that 30 days ago. and the only reason i waited the long was because the ass hole kept saying i'm gonna send it tomorrow with the tracking number. and i just lost the game it will not happen again. i wanted to post this info on this guy so he does not rip anyone else off.

Too bad some people can't hold up their end of a simple business deal.

Maybe if they had the guts they could speak up here to explain whats going on. Or else bad publicity will shame and embarrass them into returning the money they wrongfully took.

It doesn't take much to clear your name in this community - Just deliver the goods.

Of course some people have no sense of shame or morals, and eventually the law will take care of them.

Josepi 04-23-02 08:13 AM

Do a search for mail fraud. It's reportable to the post office, and then the FBI. Normally, when the governemnt calls, the money gets refunded, how should I say, quickly.

Smoke 04-23-02 09:53 AM

That would only hold up if it is documented somewhere that you guys agreed to us the USPS. USPS is the only way to prosecute for mail fraud.

sunshine 04-23-02 09:58 AM

There does not need to be "agreement" on the use of USPS. there only needs to be "intent to defraud" and the use of USPS to send or recieve goods and/or services.

Phungus 04-23-02 09:59 AM

You will get your money back. File a complaint here.

I think these people pull this crap because they think since they're on the internet, that they're untouchable.

I say get someone over there and "reach out"; then maybe take a pic of the perpetrator and post it as a deterrant for those that might try this in the future.

If someone did that to me - I'd be motivated to get the necessary info and be on a plane just to get my money's worth.

Tom93R1 04-23-02 10:37 AM

You know what would be a cool mod to the forum, seller/buyer ratings like ebay does. I am sure that enough people buy and sell stuff through here that a rating system would work. I wonder how hard to implement that would be.

kbrown211 04-23-02 08:42 PM

I reported it to the fbi so i will see what happens

TurboSmoke 04-23-02 09:47 PM

good i hope he gets nailed good luck getting your $$ back keep us posted

Stepdaddy 04-23-02 09:53 PM

you will have dirtballs like this, no rx part but i bought off e-bay and payed 125 bucks for a blown amp, they do nothing..its a risky idea

RX7BEAR 04-24-02 10:24 AM

paypal sucks. I would never use them again . If you use a money order you can sometimes get them to give your money back I forgot how they do it though . I guess its old age setting in LOL. as for ebay i have gotten my money back from bad items I purchased and the seller said he wouldnt give me my money and they go after them .
