Does your turbo timer work ??
I have a greddy turbo timer with the fc harness. I have never met anyone who has a second gen who there turbo timer works. Does your timer work and did you have problems with it before you got it to work ?? Thanks guys

Mine doesnt... But it could only be because I dont know how to set it...
Im the 6th owner of my 88TII and the guy I bought it from didnt have a clue about what a car was (well, neither did I at the time)... All he could tell me was that it kept the car running after your key was out  Problems came up when my car wouldnt start because of the turbo timer though... I had to disconnect it from the ecu port and now have to manually start and stop it and guess how hard I boosted and let it idle for whatever time I deem fit... Whatever... I plan on buying a Blitz replacement one day |
yes, every TurboII I've had had a functioning turbo timer. All it takes is plugging it in. 5-10 minutes, tops.
|
No problems here, i use the a blitz one and it works fine.
|
easy for you to say neofreak since thats the same thing i did for hours trying to find out what was wrong with it !! Its so annoying staying inside the car to wait for it to cool down but im worried ill buy another one and the same problem will occur
|
If you buy a decent brand new timer and wire it in correctly i dont see why you should have any problems.
|
If you don't use a turbo timer you won't have any problems either.
Unless you have zero mechanical sympthy, and use boost to get into your driveway, you do not need a turbo timer on cars fitted with water-cooled turbos. |
My TT worked fine. How does yours not work? Does it not keep the car idling after you take out the key? You probably need to check the ebrake sensor wire. It is a safety measure to make sure the car can only continue to idle if the ebrake is up.
|
yeah....what NZ said
unless you boost down your road and into the garage theres no reason a good minute of light driving down your road on your way home is enough to cool down everything to not have to wait generally i do that and wait about 10 seconds then turn it off |
i have my apexi autotimer set at like 30 seconds.. i hooked up the a/f part of it but it doesnt wanna work or read anything for that matter.
|
Yeah i thought it was the ebrake thing so i turned it off on the turbo timer. Still doesnt work. But still i know waiting in your car 30 sec isnt long but it will ad up as the years go buy lol. Even if you do it 200 days a year thats almost an hour an a half of my life ! I rather have the stupid turbo timer do that .
|
Yeah, NZ is right and I got mine when I was a neeb.
However, mine works fine and it is tied to the wheel speed sensor and the parking brake. My only complaint is that sometimes it cuts the car when I shut the door. And there is no way to arm the factory security system after it shuts down the car. James |
my HKS Type 0 works fine for me with the universal harness.
as for it not being worth it, mine has an auto setting that moniters the TPS and decides how long it should let the car run after the key is removed, could be 5 secs, up to 5 mins or more |
I have the Apexi
Pros: Volt meter O2 voltage size Cons: The auto feature is worthless disables stock alarm NZconvert is right "If you don't use a turbo timer you won't have any problems either." I have a EGT gauge and it doesnt take very long to cool your turbo down. And yes haave you ever noticed that bolt on Honda turbos are not water cooled. The stock 7 turbo is water cooled and oil lubricated. |
