I've seen it in Japan. It doesn't go with the car at all. Maybe I'm just not used to seeing it on an FC. The "TurboII" side stickers and '88 on "RX7" and "Mazda" badges, not stickers needs to be there . That's just me though.

How can it not go? It's just the word "Savanna" in the same font as the "RX-7" but much smaller. It suits the car fine, but it's hardly something to get excited over.

You can just see the Savanna sticker in this photo, to the left of the RX-7 sticker.

Sexy? Nope...

i just have the plastic mazda one on the back

introVert 01-13-05 06:46 AM

Plastic ones on trunklid (although on my black vert they are hard to see)
Custom carbon Mazda Motor Sports oval logos where euro sidemarkers would be
none on the nose.

Pinfield357 01-13-05 09:38 AM

none

My original plastics were just on the verge of falling off, so I pulled them completely, primed, painted, and then outlined the edges with black paint. I need to re-do the black lines and put a good clearcoat over the whole thing becuase the black is flaking off 6 months down the road.

I don't have the side GXL stickers, my front Mazda sticker is in poor shape (I'm thinking of redoing this with a good paint pen), but I still do have the car and driver car of the year sticker on my rear hatch (although it was tinted over so it looks like garbage now).

I still ahve the original floor mats, the owner's manual, the little maintenance manual, and a manual for a sony self-reversing tape deck. :D

I want to get some small vinyls of the rotating assembly (two rotors and the e-shaft) that's !4 inches in size to stick on my windows. I just need to find a good cheap place to do it for me, have any suggestions?

Here's a site that has an interesting decal of a rotor and a turbocharger put together. I've never seen that before, check it out:

:bigthumb:Wow, that looks totally hot! It gives me an idea of what to do with mine when I get it painted.

Awsome job!

I second that, those outlined emblems are pretty tight

13b_drifter 01-14-05 03:05 PM

Surpisingly, all my decals are still on. The RX7 decal on the back is peeling off but the rest seem to still be in good working order.

I will be repainting the car this spring, so I'll probably have to order stock decals once the paint job is done.

bigturbo 01-14-05 03:20 PM

nothin leftr. I took all them off. Its funny about how many people have to go what kind of car is that.....Ha ha ha I dont know why everyone only associates the name rx7 witht he 3rd gens. damn TFTF

10TH AE RX-7 badges

Keep them! Those things are like $175 EACH from the dealer. I was going to buy myself one just to keep (not put on my car) but my cost was even too much just for one emblem.

If you happen to see any 10th AE RX-7s at a junkyard (good luck), grab the emblems. They're just too expensive to pass up.

Does anyone know of a good source for the 10th AE Badges? One of ours got ripped right off of the car the other night. Took the paint off with it.:wallbash: I can't figure out why people do this; I guess just to be punks.
Anyway, if anyone knows where to find these it would be great.

Thanks,

All the original badges still, I even have the peeling GTU stickers on the fenders. I think after I get it painted I'll replace the badges and put GTUs stickers on the fenders

Interesting thread resurrection that I missed the first time around somehow...

I don't think there is a source for NOS 10AE badges which is why they seem to get stolen off peoples' cars. That really sucks.

I do have a somewhat related question. I know that the second run of 10AEs came from the factory without the "Mazda" decal on the nose. Does anyone know if other '88 models ever left the factory without the decals they were supposed to have? I ask because I bought my '88 GTU with 28K miles last year from the second owner and while both doors were obviously repainted, the nose and front fenders really look original, yet there is no sign that the "Mazda" or "GTU" decals were ever there.

Adam Swim, I noticed the last time I was on the Mazdatrix site that the red GTUs decals are no longer available, which I guess means Mazda's old stock has dried up. Hopefully you're painting your car a dark color and you'll be OK with the white version:

Daim that looks good. I might try that when I get my car repainted black but with white outlining.

Well seeing as how I have the white ones on it now, and its a red car... I'll just stick with repainting it red and buying more white stickers. :)
