Does it really matter if you mix oil control springs?
Ive searched. A lot and couldn't find any. My rebuild kit didn't come with any oil control springs..I thought it did. I had all my old springs in a box (which were fine). But none of the paint marks are visible so I don't know what they are. My question is, Is it gonna cause any problems if I have them mixed up? Does it matter? I mean it should since they're marked.. And i don't really wanna wait for new springs.

I ordered new ones, for 50 bucks I'm not willing to risk it. But id still like to know!

Not really, you just have 2 make sure that you have a matching complete set and that they are installed propertly
|
can't just throw any spring anywhere, there are 2 sets with 2 different directions because they have to lock in place against the rotor spinning rotation.

Yeah what I did was grab springs and made sure they locked in place..But its okay I ordered new springs, now I know.
I was afraid that if I put the wrong spring in that the seals would spin and get damaged or something of the sort. Luckily they were only 50 bucks my cost for a new set, and they'll be here tomorrow..I thought they'd be backordered like every other bloody FC part. |
Oil control rings and springs are all the same for all 13B. so it will never be backordered
if you order new rings and springs, you gonna get the ones for 13B-MSP S2 engine. |
