Does the BOV 'side' really matter?

Hey guys. I was wandering if the side you put the BOV does really matter? As in, does it matter if you put the bov between the throttle body and intercooler compared to having it between the turbo and intercooler?

Here are also a couple pics to see if you guys notice anything weird about my setup.
Please let me know what you guys suggest.

What about the hoses that connect to the stock tmic? Do they have to be tapped into the fmic piping? And the one hose that connected to the stock bov pipe? Do they all have to be connected to the fmic piping?
Or does the placement of the turbo have to be in a certain place? Maybe next to the hose that connected to the stock bov pipe?
OR ANY OTHER IDEAS?

If you look at the function of the BOV and what its supposed to do, then position of the BOV doesn't matter.
You could argue that having the BOV closer to the turbo (compressor) will give you a slight edge in reaction, but it's debatable if this difference is actually significant.

If anything, the sound will change.

Thanks man! Well I guess I have to keep searching for the leak.

Does anyone have their bov and boost gauge line separate from each other? Instead of t-ed into the same line?

NJGreenBudd 12-03-07 10:06 PM

as long as their both getting good vacuum it's fine to have separate lines for each.

Well right now I have both of them t-ed into the same line. A vaccum line coming off the bov to the UIM and the boost gauge line is tapped into that? I was wandering if anyone had it different? If so, how? Or is this setup ok?

Yeah thats fine. I've had the BOV in both positions I haven't seen a change in performance. If there is I can't tell.

I have my blow off valve on the same vac line as my FPR and my boost gauge T'd with my Boost Controller head unit.
