It goes to the intake

kris1212 06-14-05 11:54 PM

from the intake to towards the back of the engine bay, right?

It is the only 3/8ID hose on the intake going directly to the BACV on a turbo. On a N/A it wrapes around the back to the intake. There is allso a water line that bolts to the BACV if you are refering to this.

The BACV will not controll your idle and stop car from runing. You prolly havea huge vacuum leak. Check for this and your idle adjustment screw on the TB. The BACV only ups the amount of air put into the UIM after the TB to keep idle strong enugh on load. Such as AC. You can increase your idle from the BACV acording to the haynes manule but I use the TB screw.

ps. I have no BACV on mine.

The black hose coming out either side of the BAC is the water hose. That nasty looking piece of red heater hose coming out of the bottom is the air hose.

If yours needs replacement, you can use a similar piece of nasty looking red heater hose, a piece of fuel line, or the proper hose from the dealer.

i know its blurry and now im pretty sure that its NOT the BAC hose but here it is and i need one if anybody has a spare or knows where to get one

That's your air bypass hose...

Unless it's really ripped up, repair the hole with black RTV silicone...

If that hose has a nice size hole, yeah, you're gonna have a rough time idling...

kris1212 06-16-05 12:40 AM

well do u know where i could get one?

bcool 06-16-05 12:47 AM

junkyard? Hell see if you can match the diameter with some hose at a napa autoparts

jhammons01 06-16-05 10:48 AM

^^ Yes, just go the auto parts store and buy some replacement hose. They sell it by the foot.

Do yourself a favor and get used to that rubber hose section of the auto parts store. If your working on a 7 you'll need about 50' in various sizes before it's all over.

JamesBong 06-16-05 10:55 AM

better yet, go with silicone, especially for the smaller diamater stuff

kris1212 06-16-05 06:54 PM

do you guys happen to know what size the air bypass hose is? cuase im really hatin not havin a running car lol... well it runs but then it dies

kris1212 06-17-05 02:56 PM

i need to know the size of the air bypass hose... it seems like nobody in here knows... can sumbody help plz?

jono20 06-17-05 05:16 PM

what an air bypass hose. I can go measure it.

is it the one coming off the stock intake going into the throttle body?

kris1212 06-17-05 08:39 PM

it is circled in this pic... i need the diameter dont worry about the length i'll just buy a couple feet of it for other stuff

Here's The Pic

sorry for it being so blurry but you should be able to determine which one it is...
also, i dont know if stores measure hoses by outside or inside diameter? makes sense that it would be the inside right? well if you know could you give me the right size?

Thanks for helping :bigthumb:
