Do I need bigger injectors for 12psi on the stock turbo?

just like the topic says, 12 is the highest i wanna run, it should be okay for the stock turbo right? Would I be pushing the limits of the stock injectors?

Ryde _Or_Die 01-07-03 01:44 PM

Yes you will be pushing the stock limits of the injectors. I wouldn't do it, but its been done. If your injectors/pump aren't up to par you could have problems. Also, if you creep past on a cold night you could detonate.

BlackRx7 01-07-03 01:52 PM

how much boost are you running?

None at the moment. I blew my turbo :( Was running up to 13.5psi though.

BlackRx7 01-07-03 02:08 PM

damn that sux

Bridgeported 01-07-03 02:08 PM

I'd suggest a Walbro pump and 720cc (or more) secondaries

SaabGuy 01-07-03 02:55 PM

new rrfpr will help. Check Aeromotive.

BlackRx7 01-07-03 03:09 PM

I will have to get a custom setup right?

SaabGuy 01-07-03 03:23 PM

rrfpr is custom. Go get yourself some gslse injectors cheap from a junk yard and send them out for cleaning

RotaryRevn 01-07-03 03:25 PM

How many cc's are the gslse injectors? I have been told 620cc and 720cc......anyone know?

BlackRx7 01-07-03 03:28 PM

there rated at 680cc but I think they flow more...

BlackRx7 01-07-03 05:07 PM

How about the turbo, is it going to be reliable at 12 psi, I'm not planning on runnig it that high all the time, only at the track...

Depends really. How many miles are on the turbo? My stock one took a shit right after I turned the boost up. BUT I think mine was going anyways.

Hey guys just found this forum hahaha
I am in the u.k. and our beloved rxsevens are rare, as for the junk yards - ha ha ha
If you know of anywhere that would be able to supply me with 680cc injectors (and ship to u.k.) I would be exstatic.
My rx kinda dont like it over 12psi with stock ones.

does this also mean I need an FD fuel pump and if so is it a straight swop.
cheers

BlackRx7 01-07-03 09:25 PM

better to get a walbro 255lph here are some links

http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/
they have 680 cc for $100

http://www.groupbuycenter.com/buy.aspx?id=8133

the pump is also $99 with free shipping

Make a post in the for sale/wanted section in here, check www.thepartstrader.com, check www.teamfc3s.org/forum, and make a post in the 1st gen section because thats where the injectors come from.

As for the pump, I'd go with a walbro one. They are a direct replacement and flow well.

jeyjey 01-07-03 09:30 PM

thanks guys
you have loads in u.s.a
there are less than 150 TIIs on road in u.k.
parts are scarce

They might not want to give him free international shipping :D

jeyjey 01-07-03 10:10 PM

I have e-mailed them to ask we will see

gsracer 01-07-03 10:22 PM

Before I ported my wastegate with just the dp/mp and cone filter I would creep to .9bar in fourth...and stayed on it a couple of times. In hindsight that was very dumb, but EGT got to just over 800 degrees. That's cutting it very, very close. Then again .9 bar is about...13 pounds. I think anything UP to 12 is ok...but after that boost at your own risk with just the walbro. ;)

Hey Ryde or Dye can you still drive your car? have you seen the BNR stage 1 only 575 with core?

I can still drive my car but right now my damn 4 banger Ranger is faster :( Ya I saw the stage 1 but for $700 I can get the stage 3. And I might even save up more to get the stage 4 :D

gsracer 01-08-03 12:47 AM

How does the Majestic to4e - 46 trim with turbine clipped 8 degress compare to the BNR upgrades?
