Diy/homemade "stuff"

I have been away from the RX7 scene for a year now due to wedding/new house and am getting it ready to be back on the road. I have been searching the forums for the diy/homemade stuff and can't seem to find anything. Is there no real grassroots hotrodding going on here anymore?

Nope go fish... seriously there are little do it yourself mods and junk but nothing to different.

I am working on a megasquirt DIY EFI computer. I just got my parts from digikey today. hopefully I will be able to get it together this weekend.

You mean besides the DIY short shifter and cold air boxes? Or something else entirely?

SonicRaT 02-11-03 05:44 PM

Hmmm....
diy inlet ducts...
diy porting...
diy efi computer...
diy fcd...
diy air fuel meter...
diy short shifter...
diy headlight cold air intake...
diy sleepy headlights...
diy cold air boxes...
I'm not gonna go any further... ;)

I have: custom made intercooler, custom made intake manifold (2nd gen.), very modified intake manifold (1st gen), custom machined exhaust port sleeves, custom made gauge pods, custom twin turbo setup using 2 T-II turbos... Is this what you are searching for?

DIY installation of a Turboii motor into your N/A. That should keep you busy all of next weekend.

The guy that re-covered his dash was real good. I got a couple of things that I put up that I'm doing myself.
Hell I put a step by step picture tutorial on making peripheral ports. Rotor housing resurfacing and making replacement upholstery may not fall under DIY but it's pretty interesting. I will be covering how to install the covers though and that is nice to know. Anyone who has the equipment to do upholstery does not usually need to be told how to do it ;) I put an easy way to remove the roll pins that hold the exhaust ports in the housings which I was told came in pretty handy.

There are lots of DIY's out there but you really have to look. A forum dedicated to DIY would be nice.

Oh, I put a semi DIY on milling a rotor slot to 3mm with a horizontal mill. It has a picture of the setup.
Check out the hobbyist machine shop thread for a cheap way to setup a decent DIY shop.
