I have an 88 n/a se and am considering welding my diff...
if I were to buy a LSD what is a good price and what kind of risk is it pulling one from a junkyard .....

I think i am going to pull a couple of opens and just weld them if it is the cost effective(cheap) way :scratch:

Just find a junkyard one. Check it out like any other diff. Check out on the forums the differnt type of diffs they ahve for the NA versions. I an not sure if they are clutch or viscous type. Make sure the gears are cool,a nd rebuild it if you want. You can also shim the diff if you want too.

Don't do that. It's dangerous and stupid.

I agree. It's not really worth it especially if it's a daily driver. I don't really recommend going to a junkyard either. Most diff's on 7's tend to go after 100k. If you want lsd that bad go on ebay and buy a cheap torsen. You will get better results than a welded diff.
