Difficulty removing the intake manifold
I need some thoughts on why my T-II intake manifold won't come off. I am trying to take it off in order to get access to the Microtech LT10s wiring that connects to the injectors. I sold the LT10s and the buyer understandably would like me to send it to him. But until I get it disconnected from the injectors, I'm dead in the water.
My fear is that some PO sealed the manifold on, because, even with all of the bolts out, the thing won't budge at all! Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm stuck. :( |
Did you remove the long bolt in the center of the lower intake? Sometimes it's easy to overlook that one.

you just need some leverage to pry on it.

tap it with a hammer, the resonance will break the seal and keep the gasket in one piece.

most likely used a gasket compund called "the RIGHT STUFF"..it seals Real good!.
You have to get a pry bar and go under the manifold and just push up.it will break the bond. Be careful not to put the bar between anything that may get broke.like the Fuel rails/connectors..Etc. |
Just tap on it a bit and it should come loose. I had the same problem.

Success. Thanks very much for the advice. I think the PO used sealant in lieu of a gasket. :(
