difference in caliper between vented and non vented rotors

do the FCs use the same calipers for normal and hard suspension?..or are they different?....i know the 4 and 5 lug calipers are different...but im not sure if 5 lug calipers are considered normal or hard suspension

If i'm not mistaken, the normal suspension models use one piston calipers in the front, and the hard suspension uses 4 piston calipers. My GXL has the 4 pistons, as well as the turbos and i think the convs...... hope this helps!

i know the fronts are either 4 pot or 1 pot...im curious about the rear calipers.....anyone else?

if i remember right the calipers will be diffrent because the rotor thickness is diffrent.

The calipers are wider. When we did the 5 lug swap on my car we found that out. :)

the cars with 4 pot have bigger rear calipers to accomidate the vented rear rotors, which are thicker.

So if you have 1 pot in front then its safe to say its all normal if you have 4 pot then you have harder suspension.

Why is it harder suspension anyways? I mean the term harder.. is it just a stiffer system?

Auto Parts store use "Harder, and Normal" suspension to decide the difference in brakeing systems on our cars. I dont Under stand why they dont just have a prompt to ask how many front Pistons there are.

well once again.... go aftermarket parts stores!!!

I will say this... If I am going to replace anything that matters at all on my car I go mazda genuine parts... just because it seems worth it for most everything.
