Difference Between Turbo and NA Rotor Housings

What is the difference between a turbo and n/a housing because one t2 housing that i have is bad but i have a n/a housing and i want to know if i can use it.

exhaust diffuser. use em both or neither one. N/A has a reduction of exhaust flow, but is slightly quieter.

You can pull the exhaust sleeve out of the TII housing and drill or punch out a hole for the coolant passage and use the NA housing, you dont have to use the cooling passage necesarily though.

They are the same except the rear turbo housing will have an outlet for water for the turbo. And the NA exhaust port will have the diffuser in it. If you need to pass emission, you will need to use a front housing in the front, rear in the rear.

Ok so really if i use a n/a I have to modify it and how to i do that.

You can't just drill it out... you need to machine a lip for the o-ring.

Just get a TII housing and sell the na housing. See if rotaryresurrection is still trying to unload some inventory.

dont mix and match, the plug holes are not at the same places, so you can never get the timing right if you have one TII and one na housing

Besides emissions differences (the EGR/air passages are different) the major difference between turbo and NA housings are the exhaus sleeves and coolant passage.

The NA housings have diffusers in the exhaust sleeves. You can either grind these out, or swap the sleeves from a turbo housing.

There is also a coolant passage just above the exhaust ports where the lower intake mounts. You can see the circular boss on the housing. This has to be drilled out.

This has also been covered many, many times before. If you had searched "difference na turbo housing" you probably would have found the answer. It's also clearly visible by looking at the pictures in the FSM, or the online catalog of vendors who sell rotor housings.
