Diff. mount broken????

Guys,

I think I might have developed a broken diff. mount based on what I have read in the past. The car has developed (today) a dull thum....sounds like it's coming from the rear but it's difficult to tell. The thump occurs when the drivetrain is loaded / unloaded (shifting gears for instance). Anyway to tell for sure if it's the diff. mount? This developed without any particularly hard driving etc. Also...if it is the diff. mount will it hurt to drive it a couple more days until I can get another one. Where do I look to see if it's broken?

THanks for the help.

Todd

I have had borken tranny mounts before on other cars. It does not cause any performance, but some annoying sounds. Maybe in your case, it hurts performance, but it should not cause any safety issue.

sounds like the front diff mount to me. jack the car up and you can probably pry the rear diff up and down a bit from the subframe.

I have the same problem as well. I just bought the competition diff mount for $99 and i'm going to take care of it this weekend.... and to tell you the truth i still take my car to the races and i drive hard as often as i can and its been this way for 2 months.... and its still the same. so there shouldn't be any safety issues like telus.net said......... Don't worry... just buy the part and replace it......... no biggie

That's true. I would rather buy a stiffer mount. I just need them fast as posible. It is ghetto rigged right. I do not want to go OEM. I just need to know where or who sells them. Thank u four your help

thats funny i temporary fixed mine, the whole bracket was broke, it looked like someone tried to weld it, i just pryed it in farther and cranked the bolts down with a pipe on a ratchet
