diff. fluid

well, I bought some redline gear oil. I changed my trans. fluid. How much does the diff. hold though? I put 2 liters in the trans. Do I need 2 for the diff.? Oh yea you talk about some think stuff that smells funny! gear oil is nasty. I have never changed any before.

I just changed my trans and diff fluids this morning. Redline MT90 in the tran and Redline 75W90 in the diff.

From 1986 manual:
Transmission-Manual-2.1 US qt-Auto-7.9 US qt
Differential-1.4 USqt

That was 3 qts purchased for the tran and 2 qtrs for the diff

you need more then 2 in the tranny!!

rear diff is 1.3L I think, just fill till fluid comes out the top hole.

I didn't perform the change myself, I had apptmt to have tires balanced by my rotary mechanic (imports only) and had asked him to get the Redline and swap those fluids. I am sure he put the correct amount in. I've got my 86 owners manual in front of me and that's the quantities it specifies in US quarts.

Heres what it says in Litres:
Transmission-Manual-2.0 litres-Auto-7.5 litres
Differential-1.3 litres

I don't see that I am reading this information incorrectly, is there an error in the manual ?
