Talking did the tid mod, took it to the track, fuc ed my clutch!

First of all.... 15 bucks at home depo for the tid is freiking a badass mod!!!!!!!!! I really didn't get anymore boost in 3rd and 4th, or boost creep, probably because of being a S5, but holy ****, I got 9psi in first, and 10 in second....bwaahahahah.....

So, Im like hell yeah, Im going to the track.....I only get a couple of runs in because I fudged my clutch....once I get my clutch, I should be 13.6 or lower....

anyway, I don't feel to bad because I was slipping through 4th gear on ALL runs....kinda sucked ***, so I just went home .....

1st.
R/T .591
60ft 2.186
1/8 9.533
1/4 14.592
MPH 101.81

My clutch didnt slip so bad on this run, but I really bogged the launch slipping the clutch trying not to fry it

2nd run
R/T .580
60ft 2.231 (really ******* slipping clutch)
1/8 9.513
1/4 14.674
MPH 91 (as you can tell , my rpms went all the way to 8k in all gears and I wasn't moving )))))).......I was just plained pissed!!!!

so then I go for one more run because Im ******* pissed off.....

3rd.
R/T .654
60ft 2.5 !!!!! HOLY ****
1/8 9.895
1/4 14.963
MPH 99.64

hehehe, i was so pissed, but I quess considering I toasted my clutch on every one.....I can't complina...btw: im running stock clutch....

I have my catback coming next week, and my new rb clutch being installed..... I don't think Ill have a problem hitting below 13.5.....I got 235 toyo T1-S....they seem to hook badass.......

Ill be going in two weeks and post the results of what a good clutch can do!!!!

Talking vosko!!

Yeah, i was basing my times by you a little

you ran a 13.7 @101.5

my first run, with slipping clutch was a 14.5 @101.8!!!!
and that was with a bogged launch. I still couldnt believe I hit 101, and only got a 14.5...

With my clutch and catback, I should be able to push the traps up to 103 with a non slipping cluch and hopefully somewhere around 13.5 or lower. I know it can do it....

I still love that tid mod!!! DO IT!!!

Talking engine is strong!!!!!!!!!

vosko,

i think my engine is really strong...I've been monitoring boost/air/fuel ratios since I started modding...

the s5 wastegate works really well..

With tid/intake/midpipe/downpipe.

I see 9 psi in 1rst, 10 in second, 10 in 3rd, 10 in 4th, on a cold night I might see spikes up to 11-12 in the higher gears....

But rarely..and fuel cut on an 89+ in 8.6, so with my boost only running on an avergage. 1.5-2 psi of what the computer can handle...the walbro fuel pump and afc work great together.....I have it tuned way down 4k and under and only needed to tune it up approx 4% 5-8k and I still run a little on the rich side. ....

Of course, before I bought my car it had a jspec dropped into it, and before it was installed, the other person completely tore apart the jsped, inspected and replaced any nesseccary parts, so in reality my engine was brand new as of 10k miles ago..... I get a little blue smoke in the morning, but thats probably more to do with the turbo than the engine.....

anyway, I hope it holds for a while, however If i destroy it, that would give me an excuse for a street port!!!

SWEET! I'm planing on making one soon but I can't afford to get more creep in 4th. with the full RB and stock intake I'm hitting 9 and I don't want to go over 10. with cone on stock tid I was hitting 11 though. I'm sticking a 3" cat in next week hoping it'll lower by 2-3psi so I can do the TID and cone.
