Did S5's ever come with a rear hatch cover?
lets see if i can explain this as easy as possible... if anyone has seen like a 92-95 Civic Hatchback they have this hatch cover thing which covers the back half of the car concealing whats in the hatch area...
i was looking in my car and it seems like there are these clips for some sort of cover or something... just trying to get an idea if one did exist... cause i wanna hide my subs like that... |
I beleive they came in the 90 and 91 models... not sure... go check This thread

I think most did. I have one...
some S4's have them as well. |
I want one... expensive tho
|
my '91 looks like it has the brackets and stuff for one but the cover is missing :(
|
I have one...very useful
|
It was standard on the 89-90 GXL and 89-91 Turbo, optional on other S5 models, and a dealer option for the S4 models.

I replaced mine as part of the restoration. It's a VERY VERY nice upgrade. If your car has snaps on the carpet behind the seats and tracks on your rear speaker covers, the car was originally equiped with a cargo cover (except GTU-S, those were part bin cars). You can also pickup the snaps & speaker covers used.
Mazda sells new cargo covers for $350, which is well worth the much improved looks. |
