ra ra rotory Jun 10, 2003 05:17 PM

i like the lip, i mean they are all pretty much the same.. but.. i dont know how trustworthy of a company they are. if it fits nice or what

ilike2eatricers Jun 10, 2003 05:23 PM

yea i remember hearing bad things about them. do a search but the lip does look nice

bingoboy Jun 10, 2003 05:27 PM

there are a bunch of threads floating around about people not receiving their parts from demonspeed.

Josepi Jun 10, 2003 05:41 PM

There are a TON of complaints about people not recieving various parts and getting the general run around. Search the lounge and for sale/feedback sections for "demonspeed". You'll start looking elsewhere.

Theres a couple people selling a replica of the lip.

Check out http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/

I think the store there has them for sale.

if you order only do it COD. you will probably never get the lip if you send money.

ra ra rotory Jun 10, 2003 11:14 PM

This is what i sent demonspeed and what i got back.

Scott 89t2 Jun 10, 2003 11:21 PM

ya but they never reply to anyone asking for there already paid lips or money back...

ra ra rotory Jun 10, 2003 11:26 PM

yeah.... im sure....

Gene Jun 10, 2003 11:28 PM

Yeah it looks nice until those motherfuckers never send you your lip and never reply to your complaint emails.

Stay the fuck away from those crooks.

FEDREX Jun 11, 2003 12:40 AM

1. Do not send those clowns your money.

2. A buddy of mine has their lip (purchased from a 3rd party), I've seen it and it does jut forward a bit, seems to fit well, but doesn't have enough mass for my taste - the part that juts forward isn't very thick and cracks easily. The S5 urethane oem looks way better.

3. Buy elsewhere.

demonspeed...

I believe that, since DS started selling those lips, I am probably the only forum member to have successfully purchased one from them. I bought mine AFTER the first round of bitching on the forum(s) about non-reciept of orders. Douglas, the guy who runs it, was pretty nice and I got my lip very quickly, albeit on my terms of COD. In doing so, I offered to help him re-establish his reputation, and for a while it looked as if things had turned around.

Yes, that car pictured on the website (the black t2) is my old one, from last year, before I traded it to a friend.

Now that friend is repainting the car, and due to some curb damage needed another lip. Well, as far as I know, it has been a good 2-3 months and no lip for him. However, he did buy a clutch through douglas and we recieved it in a timely manner. But, still no splitter, last I heard. Im beginning to wonder again.

As with any transaction, use caution and cover your own ass, perhaps a bit more so here.

ra ra rotory Jun 11, 2003 02:00 AM

thanks... cod is the only way i will buy from them

Wormiez Jun 11, 2003 04:01 AM

Do COD.
I bought two lips from them a year ago and I never recieved it from them. They only sent me a Thank You Card.

I recommend you purchase a lip from MikeL over in the other Rx7 forum or buy one of my Feed lips :D

Becareful with Demonspeed. That is my 2 cents

gr0undz3r0 Jun 11, 2003 07:56 AM

Yes its true

I have Kevins Old Turbo. I am repainting it and for weeks had been talking to Douglas back and fourth about the lip (that I have already paid for). He seemed like a really honest guy. Either way everything just stopped. No more emails, no more replies, no nothing. I am very confused. He went from a great communicator and shipped out other stuff I needed to a ghost. A ghost with my money for the splitter. I am not mad. I guess I should have heeded the warnings. But since he has a picture of MY car on his site I thought he would have no dicked me. I don't know what he is gonna do. I but I have some plans.

Grizzly Jun 11, 2003 12:26 PM

well, they agreed to do it COD, I dont think there is a way they can skrew me over really. If i dont get it i dont pay for it... what do i do if they send me like a 3000 doller bill or something.. just not take the lip or what?

-Adam

Cwaters Jun 11, 2003 01:58 PM

I'd make sure it fits on your car before the UPS guy leaves with your money...
If it's one cent over the agreed price, refuse the shipment.
COD makes it easier.

hypntyz7 Jun 11, 2003 01:58 PM

Yeah, you always have the option to refuse it.

It'll be interesting if you get a lip and Curtis doesnt.

ilike2eatricers Jun 11, 2003 03:07 PM

it kinda sucks when you think that we have to resort to tactics to make sure we get products that we ordered. well in this situation anyways.

Josepi Jun 11, 2003 03:22 PM

It'd be a great if someone actually recieved it to make a plug/mold and off some glass copies...

:)

$150FC Jun 11, 2003 04:19 PM

The lip looks good, but what's it a copy of? The site says it's a copy of something available for $250 elsewhere...

ra ra rotory Jun 11, 2003 08:27 PM

Ill look into makeing copys off it... I might be able to find some people to help me out.... But im pretty sure ill get it... i already talked it over with an agreed price, and a 25 doller deduction (cuase i bitched and wanted the shift boot that they no longer carry) So anyway, im doing it COD and iv had nothing but very good experience with them so far.....

-Adam

Il let you all know if i actually get it.
