Dead Trailing Coils Project
Folks,
after having a set of FC trailing coils just die on me a couple weeks ago and having to find a new (to me) set, I had a thought. I was able to find leading coils fairly easy, but no retail trailing coils. I inspected my old coils and the windings were fine, but the switching circuit was fried. Has anyone attempted to recreate those driver boards? I know most folks that still have ahold of their old cores are probably waiting for such an occasion. Our sensors and few integrated circuits are old now and I was wondering if anyone was interested in finding ways to repair our systems and use modern components. Perhaps I'm blowing smoke, but I've been pretty getting frustrated with parts availability in general, both for this car and my other vehicles. |
Post a WTB in the classifieds.
For the hell of it I went on Ebay and spied a set for 90Usd..(leading and trailing) Do not get that confused with the "other one" that is priced at $1409!!!! |
I picked up an ebay one for $90 last week and it did fix the problem. I may have been misleading in the original post I guess. I have this extra core with 2 good windings and was wondering if anyone has ever tried to fix the switchboards before.

Aren’t the coils identical except for the L and T stamped on them?
