damn amps
can someone who has bypassed their amps(not rewired the whole thing) please tell me how to do mine cause......um.....well, i dont kno what it looks like. aw gee thanks guys

Go take out that right side front speaker panel. Locate that amp. Unplug the amp (there should be 1 connector on teh left, one on teh right). Well once you unplug it, remove the amp. You will see those 2 plugs will mate together
|
Why are you bypassing your amps? These amps put out no more power than a modern head unit. If you bypass them you'll barely hear a thing! This is 15 year old technology and not worth fixing. Just buy a new head unit and (if you're on a budget) wire it to the original speakers.

To run an aftermarket deck using the stock wiring harness. YOu would run into a problem where the door speakers wont work. TO get the door speakers to work, you have to bypass your amp
|
If you want to bypass the front passenger side speaker amp:
1) Remove speaker enclosure 2) Disconnect cnnector from speaker enclosure 3) Cut and connect the following wires: Light Green with Red Stripe to Blue with Yellow Stripe Light Green with Black Stripe to Blue with Red Stripe Light Green to Large terminal (+) of Right Spkr Light Green with Yellow Stripe to Small terminal (-) of Right Spkr This will successfully bypass the amplifier so you can use the factory speaker wiring running from the speaker back to the corresponding speaker wiring at the head unit. |
If you already have the speaker wires isolated and connected, then you have to locate the Light Green wires with the Red Stripe and the one with the Black Stripe. These 2 wires, once connected to each other complete the bypass operation.
