Dam 1600cc ford injectors install??

I seem to have a problem with installing my ford 1600cc injectors into my secondary rail. How the hell did you guys install this. The top of the fuel rail install looks ok since I installed 3 O-rings to hold it in. Its the bottom ones that I can garanttee will leak. As per the picture I installed it the way I saw someone do this on the list which does not work since the hard part of the plastic hits the piece inside of the lim and there is no seal.
Any input will be greatly appreciated!!

oh and dam all those gaskets cost me and arm:(

Thanks,
Ian

Hmm I've seen a couple guy's install them and it seemed fairly easy. They drilled the fuel rail larger, cut off the rim of that small yellow cap, installed the grommets and "o" rings and used some washers to raise the fuel rail slightly and it was all done.

Check out this site. I think it will explain it:

Thanks guys,

That is the link I was following for the install. Problem is the yellow tip hits the fuel splitter? in the LIM. I guess I should trim the yellow lip?? The stock injectors just slide right in without hitting anything. The link looks like they kept the lip but I have a 1988 Turbo.

Oh and I did nothing to the fuel rail. Just used stock o-rings. 3 on each fuel rail!!

Thanks
Ian

Here I put the grommet below the yellow lip and it looks like I could put spacers below the fuel rail to connect to the LIM.

I wonder if this works or the tip of the fuel injector is not far enough into the LIM?

Any ideas

Ian

Higgi,
Thanks. Your parts are on back order still:(

Those injectors have different part #'s then mine?

Mine is 280-150-839
and F5TE-B5A

Thanks

The plastic fuel 'splitter' below the injectors needs to be modified. You don't want the screen on them anymore. Just cut them off. At this point they are merely just mounts for the injectors. The 1600 cc injectors have so much flow that it is not uncommon for them to actually break off the screen from so much flow and then they go flying through the engine. Cut them off.

Rotarygod,

Really? This is the first time I have heard that you have to do this.

Thanks,

Many people just install them without modifying the screen but then fail to realize that over the life of their car these things have probably gotten very brittle. Not to mention the fact that it is very easy to damage them when removing injectors. I cut mine. No problems. New ones might not break but better safe than sorry.

the ones in BDC page is also ford racing 160# or 1680cc injectors.

Oh I see. I was wondering about that. I seem to not be able still to fit them properly even copying BDC!!

Thanks,
