Cusco B pillar bar pics

I just got the Cusco pillar bars in and installed. Took about 3 months to get them in. The install was a bit of a pain and it pushes against my seats a little, but not bad. I haven't taken the car out for a test drive to see if it made a difference or not yet, but it seems like it should. The bars are very thick. I could've went with a roll bar or something, but I want to keep my back seat so that my daughter can ride along with me. She loves her RX7 rides. :)

How I picked them up:

Been holding off on ordering these. I don't think I'll wait any longer.

I got them from Jay at http://www.driving-dynamics.net/. He is local to me and it cost around $230 after taxes. You can get them through online stores but I wanted to deal with someone in person for this order. I hate having to deal with online stores (No customer service). Jay is a great guy and I would recommend him to anyone. The only thing is that it takes forever to get the bars in, but Jay was able to keep me up to date about it.

Pretty Sweet!
How does she feel with them installed????

Snaaps! And you got Recaros too!
I'm selling my friend the Recaros out of my 89 GLI with the hopes of buying some new ones for my FC one of these days.
Did those just bolt in or did you have to make your own brackets?

Silverfc88 05-01-07 09:57 PM

LoL... I haven't had the chance to drive around with them yet. I can't see them making a huge difference, but maybe a little. They are some decent bars and triangles are always good. :)

I had to buy some brackets from Wedge Engineering. The brackets are ok I had to open up the holes more. I've had the seats for about 3 years now and the only problem with them in the FC is that if you use the release lever it will hit the roof, but if you use the adjust handle you can lean them all the way forward. One day I would like to sell these and get the older style looking Recaros. Something like the Recaro Specialist.

Damn those are sick, but I don't have $230 to spend on them. How hard would you say that they would be to make with a good tube bender a welder and some good fabricating skill at your disposal. And if it seems relatively straight forward would you be willing to post some pictures of the mounting points for me to be able to reproduce this.

I love that the instructions forbid the use of those bars in any country other than Japan.
